I'm not normally one for
writing "testimonial" letters concerning products I use.
However, I am so completely sold on EQUIZYME that I feel compelled
to share my story in the hope that other horses like mine may benefit.
In July of 1995 my Quarter
Horse gelding, IMPRESS TO EXCESS, tested positive for Hyperkalemic
Periodic Paralysis, or H.Y.P.P.. The disease is characterized by
sporadic attacks of muscle tremors, weakness and/or collapse. The
diagnosis came as no surprise, since he was sired by a stallion
known to pass the genetic defect. Last summer he suffered numerous
severe attacks.
After two major attacks
during one week (one occurring in the middle of a trail ride) I
called my vet, Dr. Greene, to see if there was anything I could
do. He said the paralysis attacks could be controlled, to some degree,
by diet. However, finding the correct combination of feeds and supplements
could prove to be tricky. We carefully reviewed my gelding's diet
and Dr. Greene suggested that I eliminate the molasses-based vitamin
supplement I had been feeding. (Molasses is a "suspect"
in provoking attacks.)
I was somewhat reluctant
to do so, since that particular supplement contained yeast and enzymes
which were helping the gelding to maintain his weight. (The gelding
was also a "hard-keeper".) I didn't know what to use as
an alternative supplement. Then a friend told me about EQUIZYME,
She had been using it on her Arabian endurance horses for several
months with dramatic results. She gave me a couple of scoops to
try, to see if my horse found it palatable.
I added it to my gelding's
grain and he ate it readily. So I purchased more EQUIZYME, hoping
it would be the answer to my supplement problems. That was eight
months ago and I am excited to report that IMPRESS TO EXCESS has
not had a single H.Y.P.P. attack while on the EQUIZYME product.
The diet I have formulated consists of alfalfa/grass hay supplemented
by a pound of rolled oats, a cup of rice bran and a full measure
of EQUIZYME. My gelding has a wonderful "bloom" to his
hair coat, plenty of energy, enhanced digestion and plenty of flesh
on his ribs. He isn't a "hard-keeper" anymore!
Thank you for a wonderful
product........ a product you can certainly be proud to offer. I
would recommend EQUIZYME, not just for horses with H.Y.P.P., but
for any horse that needs to get the maximum nutritional benefit
from his feed.
Gratefully,
